The International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC), in partnership with l’Observatoire national de la délinquance et des réponses pénales (OND-RP) and l’Observatoire national de la délinquance dans les transports (ONDT) in France, recently organized the “3rd International Conference on the Observation of Crime: from Observation to Action”. The event took place in Montreal from October 27 to 29, 2010

The Conference was preceded by two days of training on statistical and geographical information applied to the observation of the crime. It attracted nearly 130 participants from 23 countries worldwide.

Here are some of the conclusions of the meeting:

- The importance of developing a methodology to conduct more international comparisons.
- The interest in more practice / training on the topic of crime observation.
