Abstract :

Increasingly public debate is centered on the theme of youth, violence and gangs. Recent riots in France and Australia received international attention. The phenomenon of youth gangs, whether in Quebec, USA, Latin America and other countries, whether real or perceived, can be a cause for much concern among the population. The issue of youth violence and youth gangs has also been subject to concern in Belgium. David Yansenne discussed the evolution of these issues in Belgium from past to present.
