Guide for coordination analysis: a tool for the implementation of public policies for crime prevention

Coordination is one of most important key elements in the success of crime prevention projects. In 2015, ICPC has conducted a study on coordination between local and national governments in the implementation of crime prevention initiatives in Latin America. We have found that the major factor in the success of these initiatives was related to good coordination between actors involved in these projects. Following the results of this study, we obtained funding from the Motorola Solutions Foundation to create, from our analysis cases and experience over time, a guide to improve coordination among actors involved in crime prevention initiatives. We hope this guide will allow actors to have access to an improved procedure for their projects implementation at the local level, helping them to gain in efficiency and effectiveness over time. The guide will offer a general methodology that can be used both for the implementation and evaluation of projects’ coordination at the local level.
