Missions to Peru - 2014

On July 9, 2014, the ICPC made its ninth and final mission to Lima, Peru, for the closing of the Integrated Local Strategies Project for the Prevention of Violence against Women and Youth. Besides presenting the project’s results, the event also put one of its proposed prevention strategies on display with young people performing theatrical improvisations on the theme of violence and citizen security. The event would not have been a success without the participation of our principal partner, CMP Flora Tristan, as well as the Canadian Embassy, representatives from the Peruvian National police (PNP), the municipalities of San Juan de Lurigancho and Villa El Salvador, and the many women and young people involved in the project.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the local groups and individuals whose involvement, confidence, support, and devotion during these past three years brought this project to fruition.

The mission was also an opportunity to check the progress of the project, coordinate upcoming events for the last year of the project and the closing event in July 2014.
