Evaluation mission on the state of violence prevention in Guatemala / 2009

[Translate to English:] Mission d’évaluation, Guatemala

In 2009 ICPC was mandated by the Open Society Institute and the Soros Foundation Guatemala (ajouter lien) to create an overview of violence prevention in Guatemala and to conduct an assessment of existing initiatives. The ICPC conducted interviews with fifty stakeholders working in the field of violence prevention in Guatemala in August 2009.

The goal of this mission was to meet a range of contributors from different sectors—governmental representatives, elected officials, municipal authorities, lawyers, human rights defenders, community contributors, representatives of local NGOs, civil society actors.

ICPC’s recommendations and conclusions focused on elements capable of reinforcing the action of the OSI and the Soros Guatemala Foundation in the area of violence prevention, identification of the partners best placed to carry out actions and coordination methods deemed relevant.
