International Cooperation for Victim Assistance Network France-Quebec / 2009 - 2013

Exchange of practices, Canada-France

The International Centre for the Prevention of Crime, the Quebecois Victims Plea Association (AQPV) and France’s National Institute for Victim Assistance and Mediation (INAVEM) agreed to join forces to lay the foundations for an International Cooperation for Victim Assistance Network. This network aims at promoting knowledge in the field of victimology and identifying promising practices on victim support.

Funded by the Franco-Quebecois Standing Commission, the network’s first meeting, entitled “From the forgotten victim to the victim made sacred” was held June 25th-26th 2009 in Montpellier (France), in the context of INAVEM’s annual conference. The Network’s second meeting was held in October 2009 in Montreal, during the 5th AQPV Colloquium on the theme “At the heart of victims’ rights”.
