Peruvian delegation visit

From the 21st to the 25th October 2013, ICPC received a delegation of Peruvians working on the Integrated Local Strategies for the Prevention of Violence against Women and Youth project. It included representatives of the National Police of Peru, the municipality of Villa el Salvador and San Juan de Lurigancho, representatives of women’s leaders and our main partner, Flora Tristan. The visit allowed them to discuss prevention practices in Canada. They met with the CAVAC(assistance centres for victims of crime) of Montreal, The Shield of Athena, the Prevention CDN-NDG,  the Centre jeunesse de Montréal – Institut universitaire (CJ-IU) (Montreal Youth Centre – University Institute) Intensive Monitoring Programme and the City of Montreal Police (SPVM).

A day was also spent visiting in Ottawa, the National Crime Prevention Centre (NCPC), the Peruvian Embassy and the Canadian International development Agency (CIDA). We hope that these exchanges were rewarding and inspiring for both countries.
