Since its creation, ICPC has worked to make the knowledge base for strategic crime prevention and community safety better known, and more accessible worldwide. We have continuously provided up-to-date descriptions and analyses of national crime prevention policies for our member governments in several of our key publications. These include: Crime Prevention Digest I (1997) and II (1999)  two inventories of 100 Promising Programmes to Inspire Action around the World (1997, 1999) and Urban Crime Prevention and Youth at Risk. Compendium of Promising Strategies and Programmes from around the World (2005).

More recently, we have expanded our collection of national crime prevention policies by including descriptions of related community safety policies and strategies in a broader number of countries. Recent trends indicate an increasing cross-cutting and ‘joined-up’ approach to developing community safety at the national level.

As more resources become available, we hope to include information on policies at regional, state, provincial, and local levels.
