ICPC has a new Director, Research and Programmes

ICPC is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Director, Research and Programmes, Mr. Pablo Madriaza

Pablo Madriaza is the new Director, Research and Programmes, at the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC), in Montreal, Canada. Previously, he was Senior Analyst and Project Officer at ICPC. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Pontifica Universidad Católica de Chile, an MA in Anthropology from the University of Chile, and an MA in Sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the Université of Paris-Descartes, France. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous research projects and publications on conflict and violence, including studies on school and youth violence, crime, and the prison system, focusing on the urban context. He is currently supervising two research projects: an international study on the prevention of radicalisation and violent extremism; an action-research to develop a prevention response to violent radicalisation for the French penitentiary Department. He is the managing editor of ICPC’s 5th International Report on Crime Prevention and Community Safety. He has taught at various universities and participated in several intervention projects, principally linked to school violence, domestic violence and mental health intervention community programmes.
