- An article written by Daniel Sansfacon, Deputy Director, ICPC, on Lessons for Prevention and Community Safety through Examination of Drug Policies and Practices. Also featured in this edition are two practices that are designed to respond to the challenges posed by the presence of drug users in the community. These include: The Coffee Shop as Forum in Modena, Italy, and the Heroin Assisted Treatment Project, (HAT) in Switzerland.

ICPC welcomes Ms. Judy Klipin to our office as a Visiting Scholar, who is researching various elements of policing and crime prevention as part of her sabbatical year.

Details on the first international conference on “Youth at risk and in conflict with the law in Africa”, which took place in Port Elizabeth, South Africa from June 17 to 19 2002. It includes a conference background paper prepared by Lully Tshiwula (University of Port Elizabeth) and ICPC’s Margaret Shaw.
