The following links provide detailed information on some Belgian crime prevention practices implemented over the years.

European Forum for Urban Safety (EFUS)

Established in 1987, EFUS is a non-governmental organization that has linked approximately 300 European cities that share an interest in urban safety issues. Their website contains a database on city-level crime prevention practices on school safety, policing, trafficking in women, drugs, organized crime, and additional subjects.

European Crime Prevention Award.
  Belgium has been an active participant in this award since its inception in 1997.  The following is a list of good and inspiring practices that have been nominated over the years:

1999
-Alternative Approach to Juvenile Delinquency- Steering Committee of Youth, Damme.
-Quality of Life and Social Safety, Ghent.
-The Labyrinth of Drug Addiction- A project of the Crime Prevention Department of the municipality HUY.

2000
-
The Regional Inter-City Co-operation for Drug-Prevention in South East Flanders
--Responsible Young Passengers

2001

-'Graff 'n Art, A Positive Graffiti Policy in the City of Bruges' was one of the six nominated projects for the European Crime Prevention Award 2001, and was the overall winner.  Description available here.

2002

-Neighbourhood Mediation, Justice antenna of Genk

ICPC has produced two inventories of 100 Promising Programmes to Inspire Action around the World (1997, 1999) include inspiring and good practice examples from Belgium.  In addition, several Belgian initiatives and projects have been described  in more recent ICPC publications in the following areas -Cities, School Safety, and Women's Safety.
