The foundation of the Scottish Executive's strategies for education and young people is to ensure that everybody has access to learning opportunities that can help them achieve their full potential - giving children and young people the best possible start in life.
Bringing together representatives from schools, local authorities, the youth justice sector and other key stakeholders this national one-day conference will explore the important role of education in enhancing life chances and preventing offending amongst young people.
The conference will examine how to promote education to all, overcome barriers to learning and consider the role of alternative education and positive activities in raising achievement and self-esteem.
