Minister of Public Safety in Quebec, new appointment

 
JACQUES DUPUIS IS QUEBEC’S NEW MINISTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY
 
Mr. Jacques Dupuis was appointed Minister of Public Safety for Quebec on February 18, 2005, replacing M. Jacques Chagnon. Mr Dupuis has extensive experience as a lawyer and a legal adviser at the ministerial level and at the Department of Criminal and Penal Affairs. He was the former Permanent Attorney General’s prosecutor for the province of Quebec at the Department of Justice, where among other matters he was responsible for the prevention of organized crime (1997-1998).
