Upcoming Crime Prevention Congress, GermanyThe 10th German Congress on Crime Prevention will take place from June 6-7 in Hannover. The Congress will bring together people from various sectors which have a role to play in the prevention of crime such as health, young people’s welfare organisations, schools, the churches, communities, the media, the police, politicians, the judiciary, research and administrative bodies, related organisations and associations and others. Organized by the DPT, a charitable organization instituted by the German Foundation for Crime Prevention and Victim Support (DVS), the Congress will address the following main theme: the prevention of violence within social relations.
The Congress will offer workshops on various other current issues in the crime prevention field and there will be a large exhibition area showing projects and other initiatives.
The Annual German Congress for Crime Prevention, serves to:
- give information on and exchange views about current and fundamental issues in crime prevention and its efficacy
- bring together partners within the field of crime prevention
- facilitate the exchange of experiences based on practice
- assist in setting up contacts and exchanging information at an international level
- discuss strategies for the implementation of crime prevention measures
- draw up recommendations for the practice of crime prevention and its administration, for research and for the field of politics, and to address them to the appropriate bodies.
