Hungary has had observer status in the ICPC since 2004 and opted for full member status in 2005. Hungary brings with it a wealth of experience in the area of prevention, particularly in the areas of research and partnerships, and boasts an internationally acclaimed
National Strategy for Social Crime Prevention. The membership of the German Congress on Crime Prevention attests to the interest of organizations in crime prevention in building partnerships with the ICPC. Marked by the adhesion of governments at the state and federal level, as well as a non-governmental organization, 2005 reaffirmed ICPC’s central role as an international leader in crime prevention.
