ICPC’s Website: A New LookIn our 10th anniversary year, ICPC is pleased to announce the launch of our newly renovated website, available in English, French and Spanish. In the past year, we have worked very hard to design a website that is accessible and attractive for our members and users, provides our readers with regular updates on crime prevention knowledge and developments, as well as outlining our mission, core actions and administrative structure.

ICPC would like to express its appreciation to all those who have collaborated in the development of the new website both within ICPC as well as outside (staff, interns, member organizations and members of the APC, consultants and project officers). Reviewing the Costs and Benefits of Crime PreventionIn this issue, we feature a presentation made by ICPC's Deputy Director, Daniel SANSFAÇON, at a recent European seminar held in Helsinki, Finland (April 1-2), on the Costs and the Distribution of Costs of Crime and Disorder and Crime Prevention. It is entitled: Handle with Care: Cost-Benefit Studies and Crime Prevention' (Available here ). A copy of his power point presentation is also provided.
Organized by the Finnish National Centre for Crime Prevention, in cooperation with HEUNI and the European Network for Crime Prevention, this international seminar was designed to examine the current state of the knowledge internationally on issues and methods to cost crime and its consequences and evaluate the benefits and costs of preventive measures.
Mark COHEN from Vanderbilt University in the USA, who has worked extensively on measuring the social costs of crime, and Pat MAYHEW from the Home Office, UK, who has produced a report on the costs of crime for Australia in 2003 were among the International experts invited to this conference.
