International Institute on Crime Prevention
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
October 3-8 2004

As ICPC announced in the previous issue of International Observer, we are holding our first International Institute on Crime Prevention in Montreal in October.  This will be a pilot to help establish the Institute curriculum for future years. The Institute serves as a forum to consolidate learning on important crime prevention developments throughout the world and will review tested and new strategies to maximize the effectiveness of prevention programs and move the field ahead.

Interest is strong and this year’s participants so far include representatives from: Belgium, France, Australia, Venezuela, the United States, Canada, Wales, England, and Saudi Arabia.

The Institute will be held in Montreal’s old port, in the historic house of Canadian trade magnate Simon McTavish (c.1780-1804), conveniently located near downtown Montreal.  This year’s pilot can accommodate 3 more participants.
